Sara Ramirez
Sara Ramirez has been a Mexican American actress, singer and songwriter for a number of years. In her early years Sara was targeted for racial discrimination by a lot of Americans. As she entered the 9th grade she began to feel more confident when she was applauded by her teachers for singing at a school's audition. This experience did not just help her gain confidence but changed her outlook on the future. At the age of 22, she received her degree from in the Julliard School of New York. When she was 23, her first Broadway performance with Paul Simon's The Capeman, and her film debut You've Got Mail, were her biggest breakthroughs. The role of The Lad of The Lake was her greatest breakthrough, bringing her an award called the Tony Award in addition to praise from critics for her performance. Her fame grew by appearing on Grey's Anatomy on ABC as Dr. Callie Torres. Known as a singer she released her own single and an extended play. She's also an activist who fights to protect LGBT rights.
