The childhood of Pickler was not a smooth one. When she was two the mother of her fled from an unfaithful relationship. Pickler was brought back to the mother she had left in 1995 when she was appointed the custodian. However, it was not an enjoyable encounter. When she turned 12, the judge returned Pickler to her grandparents - whom she grew up with. In the absence of her parents, Pickler became too busy caring for her kids. She revealed that she was no longer able to study and started learning how to make a living as a homemaker in her early years. Pickler was the cheerleader at middle and high school. North Stanly High School, where she was a graduate in 2004 is her school of choice. Pickler has also been a beauty pageant contestant. She was crowned Miss Stanly Country.
